The Fabulous Marbella Feria – a stunning June event!

If you are lucky enough to be in Marbella from the 9th-15th June, 2019, don’t miss the stunning annual fair.

Marbella Feria is held each year during the second week of June and celebrates the town’s patron saint, San Bernabe, whose feast day is on the 11th June. It all kicks off with an opening ceremony followed by a spectacular firework display.

Why not stay in a luxury holiday and event villa in Marbella and make the most of your time on the glitzy Costa del Sol?

The day time festivities are held in the Alameda Park in the centre of town and along the Avenida del Mar heading from the park down to the sea. Orange Square in Marbella Old Town also hosts a choice of live entertainment with flamenco dancers and singers gracing the stage.

Open-air bars are erected in Alameda Park and throughout the streets heading up to the Old Town – you definitely won’t go hungry or thirsty!

Passion, colour and noise are the first things to assault the senses as you approach the annual Feria in Marbella. The pride of the local people during feria week is wonderful to see – the women showing off their beautiful flamenco dresses as they perch side-saddle behind the elegant horsemen in their red neck ties, sombreros and braces.

Marbella Feria is one of the most prestigious events in Andalucia, and the streets of the town, including local bars and restaurants are festooned in flags, banners and bunting to leave the tourists in no doubt that this is feria week. Whether you visit the day time feria or the more raucous evening event, you will have a great time!

Every year there is a special Children´s Evening where the younger members of the family can enjoy discounted or free fairground rides before the ´big kids´ arrive after dark!

This festival of fun also boasts superb food, including: Spanish omelette, Iberian ham, Manchego cheese, fried fish and firm fairground favourites such as candy floss, toffee apples and home-made fudge. If you manage to stay at the fair until dawn, join the locals for a cup of thick hot chocolate and churros for breakfast!
